H&M Holiday Collection 2011

Make-Up time vol.1

So here are some of the new things that have caught my eye lately. And some are totally must have products.
I've listed some, over the counter products that you can buy from everywhere for a reasonable price, and some of the more expensive ones.

Eyes by Design, a new line of shadows, liners, and bases that come with illustrated instructions for totally goof-proof application. Hazel palette, $29.95.

Housed in a case designed by haute Parisian jeweler Lorenz Bäumer, Guerlain's Rouge G lipstick, $45, boasts crushed ruby powder and liquefied mother of pearl.

The finely feathered Viktor & Rolf for Shu Uemura eyelashes, $95, treat eyes as works of art that deserve a proper frame. OK, so maybe they're not for every day, but the precious clamshell box and mask are display-worthy.

L'Oreal Paris HIP Color Presso Lip Gloss, $13 each, marries two contrasting shades in one tube, so you can customize your mouth's bright, shining moment.

On top of making red lips unquestionably cool again (see the Nina Ricci and Louis Vuitton spring runways), makeup maverick Pat McGrath's latest feat is making them wearable: Her formula for Max Factor's new Vivid Impact Lip Color ($7.98) is a genius mix of shockingly bright pigments and chap-preventing shea butter.

NARS Trio Eyeshadow were created to allow you to achieve looks always more dazzling. Whether you prefer a more natural or intense look, the Trio Eyeshadow, is the ultimate accessory to create the look that suits you. Each of these colors can be used in combination with each other to create an unlimited number of sophisticated looks. All are rich in pigments and apply and blend effortlessly.
(This one is "Arabian nights")

Fall 2011

Here are just some of my favorites for this fall.
All are the biggest trends for this autumn.

Beauty trends

2012 spring brings lot of new trends and old trends.

1. The eyeliner
Seen at: Ruffian, Jonathan Saunders, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana, Kanye West
The look: With inspirations that ranged from Sophia Loren to "a fifties housewife who's probably had too much Valium," cat eyes came on strong.

2. The wet hair
Seen at: Victoria Beckham, Alexander Wang, Helmut Lang, Giambattista Valli, Bottega Veneta
The look: "Wet hair" wasn't so much a trend as a movement for spring, as "she's just come from the beach" musings rang out from New York to Paris.

3. Flesh tone
Seen at: Diane von Furstenberg, Preen, Narciso Rodriguez, Alexander McQueen
The look: "Tonal" became a big buzzword as a single pots of shell, taupe, brown, beige, and blush pigments took the idea of multitasking makeup to a whole new level.

4. Three Dimensional
Seen at:  Givenchy, Gareth Pugh, Viktor & Rolf
The Look: Makeup wasn't the only thing used to accentuate features backstage. Three dimensional cosmetics, by way of paper stencils, paillettes, and a plethora of faux piercings, from pearls at Chanel to nail rings at Jean Paul Gaultier, replaced predictable eye liner and lacquers.

5. The hair
Seen at: Jean Paul Gaultier, Rochas, Diane von Furstenberg, Fendi
The look: The coiffeur crew was in a retro mood, with fifties style sets turning up everywhere from Fendi to Rochas.

6. Side shaves
Seen at: Rick  Owens, Paul Smith, Haider Ackermann, Salvatore Ferragagamo
The look: The side shaves at Salvatore Ferragamo, undercuts at Paul Smith, and fades at Haider Ackermann were all optical illusions.

7. Eyebrows
Seen at: Wes Gordon, Christopher Kane, Kenzo
The Look: Following Fall's embrace of extra-full brows, arches stayed bold, erring on the side of boyish and bushy at Proenza Schoulder and Theyskens' Theory.

8. Iron Maidens
Seen at: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander Herchcovitch, Mary Katrantzou, Yves Saint Laurent
The look:  High-Impact pewter shadows, glitter-flecked crimson lipsticks, and even gold-leaf sheets, which were blown onto honey-soaked hair at Topshop and placed from lash lines to brow bones at Fendi, made foil fashionable.
